AFTER ANOTHER BADASS BREAKFAST WE UNLEASH THE RAPTORS ON SNOW-DUSTED BACKROADS—ROLLING COUNTRYSIDE, WINDING CANYONS, AND HIGH MOUNTAIN PASSES AROUND STEAMBOAT SPRINGS LEADING UP TO A GOURMET LUNCH AT A RESORT JUST OVER THE WYOMING BORDER. THEN IT’S MORE RAPTOR SNOWRUNNING AS WE CARVE OUR WAY BACK TOWARD TOWN FOR AN ELEVATED DINNER THAT'S AS FULFILLING AS THE DAY’S DRIVE. WE CLOSE IT OUT UNDER THE STARS WITH HOT TUBS AND COCKTAILS AT THE LODGE—MUSCLES LOOSE, SPIRITS HIGH, READY FOR MORE.

DAY THREE

AFTER ANOTHER EPIC FARM-TO-FORK BREAKFAST, WE CARVE UP THE MOUNTAIN ROADS TO THE NATIONAL FOREST TRAILHEAD WHERE OUR SNOWMOBILES ARE WAITING—UNSUPERVISED, ALL-DAY POWDER RIOT! WE RIP DEEP INTO THE TREES AND MEADOWS, SURFING BERMS AND SLOPES UNTIL LUNCH, THEN MEET BACK AT THE TRUCKS FOR HOT CHILI AND A WARM UP BEFORE DIVING RIGHT BACK INTO THE POWDER. A SUNSET CRUISE BACK TO TOWN SETS THE SCENE FOR ANOTHER AWARD-WINNING DINNER, THEN SOAK IT ALL OFF WITH HOT TUBS AND DRINKS AT THE LODGE—MUSCLES MELTED, GRINS PERMANENT.

DAY FOUR

WE CRUSH ANOTHER BADASS BREAKFAST, FIRE UP THE RAPTORS, AND GO EXPERIENCE MORE OF STEAMBOAT’S BACKCOUNTRY—RIDGELINES, CANYONS, AND WIND-SWEPT MEADOWS ON SNOW-DUSTED BACKROADS. MIDDAY WE STOP FOR AN EPIC LUNCH, SWAP TALES, AND MAP A SWEET LINE BACK TOWARD TOWN. LATE AFTERNOON, WE RETURN TO STRAWBERRY HOT SPRINGS FOR A LONG SOAK AND STORY SESSION AS THE SKY GOES GOLD. WHEN SUNDOWN HITS, WE ROLL INTO ANOTHER NEXT-LEVEL DINNER AND CHILL—FULLY RECHARGED.

Every adventure is an exercise in adaptability. Environments and conditions change. As much as we try to control the variables some things are just up to mother nature and the universe. Having a positive attitude is the best tool you can have to see you through any condition. We will have lots of fun and make memories of a lifetime. Every adventure should be looked at as "part of your life's movie". Sometimes a little adversity makes for some of the best movies. We're all in this together. We move as a team and we aim to get everyone back for dinner. LET'S ROCK!!

RAPTOR IN GOOD MECHANICAL CONDITION

I think this goes without saying. We want you to have fun and be safe. Be on good tires with a fresh oil change before any trip. There's nothing worse than having an issue that could have easily been prevented with some forethought. Treat your equipment with love and respect and it will come through for you.

50 WATT VHF RACE RADIO

Okay, these are one of those pieces of equipment that you never knew you loved so much until you have one. When you're out on the trails with buddies and you're way out where the fun happens and the cell phone signals fade away, the one best coms device is a VHF radio. GET A GOOD ONE! You will thank me later. The ICOM F5021 sets the standard for performance and reliability. Get one with the magnetic coax mount if you don't have a permanent setup. PCI Race Radios has them in a bundle with coax cable, magnetic antenna and cigarette lighter power cord.

REAR-FACING AMBER LIGHTS

This is a visibility must-have to make sure YOU are visible to any vehicle coming up behind you at a high rate of speed. I know, you're always leading the pack, but if you have a mechanical issue and others are approaching you want them to see you through dust, rain, or snow. There are all sorts of lights for this purpose. The higher the lights are mounted the more visible they are. there are some really good 3rd brake light mount options on the market as well as bed-cap-mount options. rear bumper lights can easily get obscured with dirt, mud, snow, etc so don't rely on those. Get something mounted higher.

FORWARD-FACING OFF-ROAD LIGHTS

These are so valuable in snow, rain and dusty environments in addition to lighting up the world at night. A good combination of amber and clear are the way to go. Amber and yellow light have a wavelength that cuts through dust, rain, snow and doesn't reflect off of the tiny particles as easily as white light. So having amber lights that can be used by themselves is a great option. And having some "ditch lights" will change your life. They open up your field of view much wider than just forward-facing lights. This helps big-time with perception of speed, cornering, and seeing any animals that might be waiting to ruin your day (or night).

SPARE TIRE IN GOOD CONDITION

SERIOUSLY. When is the last time you checked your spare tire PSI? There's nothing worse than needing it and it doesn't have air. This is one of those dad-lessons passed down through generations. Air it up and make sure it's not dry rotted or damaged in any way. It's something that isn't on the typical pre-flight checklist but should be before any road trip.

BED TIE-DOWN SECURE

Make sure all of the gear in your bed is securely tied down. You don't want to loose anything while you're blasting down the trail and the guy behind you sure would appreciate it also.

KINETIC RECOVERY ROPE

These are a great item to have if you get into sand, mud or deep snow. These also make you the hero if anyone else gets stuck.

SECOND SPARE TIRE

A second spare tire will save your ass in many off-road environments. You'll always be glad you brought extra. This isn't as critical in our winter rallies because we're not pushing hard on super rugged terrain with rocks and debris but it's very critical in any normal off-road rallies.

iPAD & NAVIGATION APPS

Apps like onX Offroad, Gaia GPS, LEADNAV, or Trails Offroad are valuable GPS apps in any offroad environment. We will be sharing files of our route so you can pull up the maps and navigate like a BOSS!

OFFROAD JACK

An offroad jack is a great thing to have due to their larger footprint and mission-specific design and accessories.

TRIP-SPECIFIC GEAR

WINTER CLOTHING

On this trip you'll need to bring your thermals, snowboard/ski pants, ski jacket, snow boots, thermal socks, gloves. If you have a motorcross helmet and gogles bring those too so you'll be comfortable on the snowmobiles. they'll have helmets to use but your own helmet is always a better fit I have found. I will typically bring a face mask to a snowmobile trip just in case it's snowing. Snow stings your face when going 50 mph even if you have a full face helmet on.

BATHING SUITS

Seeing that our lodge has a heated swimming pool and hot tubs and that we're going to Strawberry Hot Springs a couple times you'll definitely want to bring a bathing suit. Towels will be supplied by the lodge and we can take those to the hot springs also.

WINDSHIELD BRUSH

We'll be parking inside at the lodge but any outside parking will most likely result in snow buildup on your windshield. If there is LOTS of snow like sometimes happens, you'll want a long-handled windshield brush to get it off like a BOSS.

SNOW TIRES (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

SNOW TIRES ARE BADASS FOR USE UP IN THE MOUNTAINS. I KNOW IT'S HARD TO FIND REAL SNOW TIRES IN A 35" OR 37" BUT YOU MIGHT CHECK OUT MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA BOSS A/T. THEY'RE AVAILABLE IN 35" AND 37" AND WELL KNOWN FOR GOOD SNOW PERFORMANCE.

TIRE CHAINS

THESE WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND IF THE CONDITIONS ARE SUPER SLICK. STRAWBERRY HOT SPRINGS IS WAY UP THERE AND AT NIGHT IT'S WISE TO HAVE CHAINS. WE ROLL PREPARED. MAYBE IT'S THE EAGLE SCOUT IN ME.

WITH THIS TRIP WE STAY IN AN AWESOME PRIVATE LODGE WITH 9 PRIVATE BEDROOMS AND 10.5 BATHROOMS SO EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE PRIVACY. THERE IS A MIX OF MOSTLY KING BEDS AND A COUPLE QUEEN BEDS. WE HAVE A HOT TUB, SAUNA, GAME ROOMS WITH POOL TABLE, POKER TABLE, CHESS, FOOSBALL TABLE, WORKOUT ROOM, LAUNDRY ROOM AND FULL KITCHEN. THE PARKING IS AMPLE AND SHOULD FIT 8-10 RAPTORS PERFECTLY.

SNOWMOBILE RENTAL FOR 2

WE DON'T MESS AROUND WITH OLD EQUIPMENT EITHER. THESE SLEDS ARE BRAND NEW 850CC ALL-MOUNTAIN RIPPERS THAT WILL MAKE YOU START SEARCHING DEALERSHIPS TO PICK ONE UP FOR YOURSELF ON THE WAY HOME. TWO PEOPLE FIT ON ONE OF THESE SLEDS COMFORTABLY. HAND AND BOOT WARMERS FRONT AND REAR.

STRAWBERRY HOT SPRINGS IS A MUST-EXPERIENCE TYPE OF PLACE. IF YOU'VE BEEN THERE YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. THE SETTING AND AMBIANCE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN COLORADO.

This price is per truck with 2 people in it. This second person can be a spouse, friend, child, nephew, cousin, or someone you just met at the gas station as long as they're cool and you don't mind sharing a bed with them. The lodge rooms are king or queen bed, each in a private room. If you would like a 3rd person to come please email me and we can figure out bed, food, and snowmobile accommodations. A deposit of $3000 is due to hold your spot and is non refundable after 7 days or 60 days before the event, whichever comes first. The final payment of $3250 is due Jan 15th. If we somehow still have spots available after Jan 15th the full amount will be due up front. If the "Reserve My Spot" button is still active after Jan 15th that means we still have a spot for you.
